Affiliate Marketing Networks may suffer losses in the near future

Google’s monopoly in online advertising is unchallenged. With $16 billions a year, one can imagine the sort of influence Google has over users as well as competitors. One of the most serious issues that affiliates are worried about is Universal Searching service. There have been many debates about the repercussions of universal search services and the most concerned are webmasters who earn by advertising on their sites.

In search results page, what a users sees is the text description and web sites links. But when the search result pages would include elements like pictures, images, videos, commercials, or any other valuable information; Internet users would hardly require going anywhere else. There can be a direct play option for videos on the same page in small widgets. With that online advertising would revolve round the search engine and webmaster’s resource may lose their significance.

Also, Google is watching carefully the money that goes to affiliate networks. Sooner or later, they will bring in some product in the market. Therefore predictions reveal a very tough time for affiliate agencies in the near future.

When pay per click model was put into practice, the affiliates were all the more happy as it served them most. Publishers and web site owners got alternative to avert for long hours of waiting and hard work in promoting their sites. The sponsored links work fine. But with companies like Google taking a major share of advertising revenue world over, there is little left for individual affiliates and small players.
